Early versus delayed rehabilitation protocol after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair

چکیده
Objective: To assess the effect of immobilization versus early range motion exercises in treating primary arthroscopic rotator cuff repair secondary to full-thickness tear. Design: Parallel group randomized clinical trial. Participants: 30 patients with tear participated study. Interventions: Patients were divided into two groups, 15 each group. The first (A) received (ROM) started 2 weeks post-operative; and second (B) immobilized immediately post operative delayed 6 post-operative. Main outcomes: Shoulder pain function assessed by shoulder disability index (SPADI). ROM flexion, abduction, internal rotation standard goniometer. Scapular protraction was digital caliper scapular upward bubble inclinometer. All outcomes both groups weeks, 3 months postoperative. Results: A significant increase abduction at observed between favor Group A.

Rehabilitation protocol after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair: early versus delayed motion.
PURPOSE To evaluate the effectiveness of early and delayed motion in rehabilitation after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair using a meta-analysis from randomized controlled trials. MATERIALS AND METHODS Electronic searches of the CENTRAL, PUBMED, and EMBASE were used to identify randomized controlled trials that evaluated the effectiveness and safety of early and delayed motion for rehabilitat...
متن کاملEarly passive motion versus immobilization after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
PURPOSE To provide a synthesis of the highest-quality literature available comparing early passive motion (EPM) with strict sling immobilization during the first 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. METHODS The Medline, Cochrane, and Embase databases were searched for eligible studies. We reviewed 886 citations, and 5 randomized clinical trials (RCTs) (Level II) met the inclusion criteria for meta-ana...
متن کاملRehabilitation following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
The postoperative rehabilitation program is critical for the successful arthroscopic treatment of rotator cuff injury. The authors' experience has confirmed that the best clinical results (restoration of strength, motion, and relief of pain) following rotator cuff repair are achieved after a durable repair of tendon to bone that heals in its entirety. Therefore, the senior author (SSB) has adop...
متن کاملA Comparison of Rehabilitation Methods After Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair
CONTEXT Despite the significant attention directed toward optimizing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, there has been less focus on rehabilitation after rotator cuff repair surgery. OBJECTIVE To determine the effect of different rehabilitation protocols on clinical outcomes by comparing early versus late mobilization approaches and continuous passive mobilization (CPM) versus manual therapy a...
